 ​At Mindful Music Studio we offer private vocal / singing lessons for ages 7 and up. Voice training instructor is tailored to each student based on their age, skill level, current health of the instrument, genre choice, and musical goals.

​The voice is probably one of the most complicated instruments because it is not visible to the teacher and there are no keys to press! The teacher will assess the student's needs and gently guide in the exploration of the instrument using the principles of the Somatic Voicework℠ the LoVetri Method established by Jeannette LoVetri. After getting acquainted with the functions of your voice, you may choose a style and head in a direction of a particular genre. Soma comes from the Greek for body, as does psyche, meaning mind. SVW™ is body-based work with the voice.

Musical literacy plays an important role in one's musicianship. Singers frequently learn to rely on their ears alone without further learning music theory or understand of notation. We encourage our beginner students to include some time at the piano in their lessons, to become acquainted with the instrument and learn to use it as an aid in practicing singing at home. Having basic understanding of the keyboard as well as reading notation provides a bit of an external visual to tie one's experience of their vocal range. In these voice lessons the student will learn how to take care of your voice, how to work with it on a daily basis based on which aspects of the instrument need strengthening. You will also get Alexander Technique instruction by a certified teacher in your lessons to aid with posture and general use of the body - the body is your instrument!

Working with children's voice differs from adult, fully formed voices. We carefully select appropriate repertoire and work on developing healthy technique, range, strength and proper register coordination, as well as aural skills.

In addition to basic vocal training, we offer jazz voice lessons.
​If you love singing standards and improvising - Mindful Music Studio is the right place for you! We will work on finding the right keys of songs to suit your voice, as well as teach you basic song form, harmony, phrasing, and scatting. Jazz singing is a fun way to explore creativity within music that you know and love. You will learn some jazz theory basics, as well as piano basics to be able to accompany yourself and practice at home.

We offer lessons that are 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes in length.
