VIOLIN LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS, YOUNG KIDS, TEENAGERS, AND ADULTS NEAR LEXINGTON MA.
The violin teachers At Mindful Music Studio offer violin instruction for all ages. Typically our students start at age 4 and up, however, if a 3 year old displays curiosity and musical tendencies, we like to schedule a trial lesson and determine whether lessons are the right choice at that time.
Our violin instruction is tailored to the needs of each student, depending on their age, skill level, learning style, and musical goals. We strongly believe in mindfulness as the foundation for all learning.
With our guidance the student will develop the skills to practice on their own, learn scales and technical skills required to enjoy one’s own playing, and work on desired repertoire. If the student is determined to pursue a specific genre, we lay down the technical skills required to play classical music, and further introduce the student to their desired repertoire.
Reading music, playing by ear, understanding the basics of music theory, as well as improvisation are all components of piano lessons.
how to learn the violin
In the beginning a lot of hands-on attention is required in order to properly set the hands and posture. Daily practice is necessary, even if only for 5-10 minutes at first. Small children will require parental presence and involvement.
The magic of transformation from a beginner to a musician happens primarily at home, as the student implements the practice tools we teach during the lessons. Our goal is to facilitate the student's curiosity while equipping them with the ability to problem solve efficiently for the most satisfying result. This is where the concept of mindfulness plays such an important role.
Practicing an instrument is not just about putting in time and repetition, but rather about being able to discern what needs attention, and how to tackle it.
LEARNING THE VIOLIN STARTS WITH READING MUSIC
Learning how to read music is an essential component of violin lessons at Mindful Music Studio. Once again, we are simply the facilitators of developing the relationship with music and the instrument. Students, who don't have experience playing an instrument and reading music will quickly learn how to recognize music notation to be able to soon work on music.
We want our students to be able to walk away and explore the world of music on their own, once their music reading skills are set in place. It's just like learning to read language. Once it becomes second nature, the second skill is being able to break down the material and practice efficiently.
THE MINDFUL MUSIC STUDIO PHILOSOPHY
We help you build the life-long skillset of being able to learn music on your own, connect to yourself on a deeper level, and build your confidence and creative expression.
You will also receive Alexander Technique instruction by a certified teacher during your lessons as needed, to aid with the general use of the body and posture.
LOOKING FOR JAZZ VIOLIN LESSONS?
In addition to basic and classical violin, Ariadna teaches jazz violin lessons.
Jazz violin instruction is for those who are at the intermediate or advanced level with the instrument. However, if you are a beginner, and your goal is to play jazz violin and improvise - we will start you off with some healthy fundamentals, and early on will begin working on improvising.
It's a skill that builds from simple to complex, as your command of the violin and music theory understanding expands. (It's not as intimidating as it might sound!)
HOW LONG ARE THE VIOLIN LESSONS?
We offer lessons that are 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes in length. If you wish to have a violin teacher come to your home, the minimum length for a lesson is 45 minutes.
